Paul-Gerhardt-Health Forum on prostate cancer on November 10th
The next Paul-Gerhardt-Health Forum will be held on Thursday 10 November 2011 and is dedicated to the topic of prostate cancer. Dr. Frank Volkert, chief physician of the Clinic for Urology and Pediatric Urology, will present current aspects of diagnosis and therapy.
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. After lung and colon cancer it is the most common lethal cancer. "The early stages of this disease are virtually without symptoms. Only in an advanced stage it can come to bone pain, urinary symptoms, weight loss or anemia," says Dr. Frank Volkert. As part of the Health Forum of Paul Gerhardt Stift Dr. Volkert will not only talk about prevention and early detection, but also introduce the latest developments in diagnosis and therapy. The forum is aimed at patients and as well as family members, friends and interested citizens.
Guests of the Forum, as always, are welcome to ask questions and talk to the speakers afterwards. The venue is the new chapel of the hospital of Paul Gerhardt Stift in Wittenberg, Paul-Gerhardt-Straße 42-45. Start is 6 p.m., admission is free.
