Hospitals of PGD International rank above average in patient satisfaction
The health insurance Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) awarded its Klinikus Award 2012 to Martin Luther Hospital and Waldkrankenhaus Hospital Spandau, both being part of PGD International.
The award honors the hospitals with the highest patient satisfaction. The results are based on a survey that was conducted among more than 15,000 patients insured by the Techniker Krankenkasse of Berlin and Brandenburg. A particularly positive assessment got Martin Luther Hospital in the following points:
- Doctors understandably answer patients question
- Nurses understandably answer patients questions
- extensive information about the operations
- Caregivers are well informed about the patients medical history and the progression of their illnesses
- Information of the medicaments to be taken are clearly understandable
The Klinikus Award serves as quality seal for superior patient satisfaction and supports patients to choose the right hospital for them. Susanne Hertzer, head of TK in Berlin and Brandenburg: "The patients of Martin Luther Hospital are satisfied above average. With the Klinikus we want to celebrate this positive result. At the same time the award serves as an incentive to improve patient care even further."

In addition to the subjective assessments of patients, the TK-Clinic Guide provides important medical parameters in understandable language, such as the quality reports of hospitals. About 1,000 hospitals throughout the country are valued regularly for the grade of satisfaction of its patients in the categories of overall satisfaction, outcome of treatment, medical and nursing care, information and communication as well as organization and accommodation. Only those hospitals that have performed in all five categories above average receive the TK Klinikus Award.
