Waldkrankenhaus Protestant Hospital

As an academic teaching hospital of the Charité–Universitätsmedizin Berlin (a joint institution of the Free University of Berlin and Berlin Humboldt University), quality plays a vital role at the Waldkrankenhaus Protestant Hospital in Spandau.

The medical centers combine specialist expertise with a focus on extending interdisciplinary collaboration. All treatment and care is based on and certified to the quality standards established by the specialist medical associations.

The latest medical technology, exceptional physicians (all of whom are recognized as experts in their fields), professional care and individual service are other vital factors that ensure the very highest quality at the hospital, which is KTQ-certified (German acronym for ‘Cooperation for Transparency and Quality in the Healthcare Industry’), one of the leading forms of certification in Germany.

The Waldkrankenhaus Protestant Hospital treats around 19,000 inpatients and over 40,000 outpatients each year.

The hospital is located in the district of Spandau, which is famous for its abundance of woodland and lakes. Among the most popular attractions are the Altstadt (old town) and the Zitadelle (Citadel), one of the most important and best-preserved Renaissance fortresses in Europe.
